The Book ‘Environmental Management: the Path to Towards Sustainable Development’ Presented in Webinar at the University of Brasilia

Brasilia, 22 August 2024 - In an initiative that is part of the “Other Views and Knowledge about Africa’ project, the University of Brasilia (UnB) recently held the fourth webinar focused on reflecting on sustainable development on the African continent. The event, which took place virtually at 06:00 PM Mozambique time, featured the presentation of the book Environmental Management: The Path Towards Sustainable Development, written by Nunes Mazivile (MAZIVILA).

The project ‘Other Views and Knowledge of Africa’ aims to promote debates and studies on the dynamics of development in Africa, covering various areas such as social, political, economic and environmental. The webinar was presented by Nunes Mazivile, author of the book, and moderated by Mozambican Tomás de Azevedo Júlio, a PhD candidate in Sustainable Development at UnB, with a focus on climate change in natural and urban systems.

During the webinar, in addition to the discussion around the book, crucial topics were covered such as the African approach to climate change, land use patterns in the context of urbanisation and human settlements, and the ethics of corporate environmental management in Mozambique, especially regarding environmental protection and conservation.

The event ended with the award of a certificate of recognition to author and speaker Nunes Mazivile, in recognition of his contribution to the debate on sustainable development in Africa.
